Abstract
The Forest Service is determined to finish the final six-mile link of the G-O Road. They are awaiting the final environmental impact statement as well as a letter of decision from Regional Forester Zane Smith. The National Advisory Council on Historic Preservation has recommended abandoning sections of the road due to wilderness preservation and the interest of protecting sites considered sacred by local Indigenous tribes.
