Advisory Council On Historic Preservation Meeting: Chimney Rock Section, Gasquet Orleans Road

The purpose of the meeting is to provide representatives of National, State and local government, representatives of public and private
organizations and interested citizens with an opportunity to receive information and to express their views on the undertaking, and the alternative courses of action that could avoid, mitigate, or minimize adverse effects on cultural properties included in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

"When a project will have an effect on a National Register property it is a requirement that the Federal Agency consult with the National Advisory Council on Historic preservation. As part of the consultation process the Advisory Council has the option of requesting a public information meeting. Due to the controversial nature of the proposed completion of the G-0 Road the Advisory Council has exercised their option and called for a public information meeting."
