Abstract

"Initially, and primarily, there was no recording device utilized during the session. From personal observation, I know that the four Forest Service officials comprising the decision making was not taking extensive notes. Most, if not all, of the testimony will thus not be available for future reference for both same decision makers, future ones, and including Congress.
This is particularly disturbing in light of the fact that several medicine men from Indian Nations whose sacred High Country spirit lands are within the Eight-Mile Blue Creek Area gave statements."
