Description

This document is a letter written on behalf of U.S.D.A. Forest Service Chief Forester Richard Burke, in response to the Northcoast Environmental Center's concerns, during the public comments meetings regarding the Chimney Rock Section of the Six Rivers National Forest planning of the Multiple Use Act, timber harvest, and recreation planning. The Northcoast Environmental Center's concern was that the comments were not being recorded and the was not extensive notes taken from the four U.S.D.A. Forest Service employees at the public meeting . As well as the fact that important oral history from local Medicine people from the Yurok, Karuk, Tolowa, Hupa Tribes would not be able to be referenced later by anyone that might want to know what was said during the meetings.
